Silk Road Investment Guide - Rebranding the World's Oldest Trade Route

The “Investment Guide to the Silk Road”  published in 2009, is an integral part of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development’s (UNCTAD) work in the Silk Road region, which comprises the States of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Western Chinese provinces. It incorporates work by The Negotiation Lab, which was commissioned to conduct research and write the section on “Branding the Silk Road Region"  as part of the first phase of the project in a publication prepared with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in China and presented at the first Silk Road Investment Forum organized by UNDP/UNCTAD and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Xian, China, in June 2006. The research was also used in the publication “G8 Summit 2006 – Issues and Instruments” for the conference held in St. Petersburg, Russia in July 2006.
